Ann Liguori Foundation Charity Classic scheduled for September 22

Sports broadcasting pioneer and award-winning talk show host Anne Liguori will host it 24e Annual Ann Liguori Foundation (ALF) Charity Golf Classic on Thursday, September 22, 2022, to Maidstone Club in East Hampton, NY The annual charity outing benefits nonprofit organizations working in cancer research and care, including the Samuel Waxman Cancer Research Foundation, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, and East End Hospice .

“It’s a disease we know only too well,” says Liguori. “We are all directly or indirectly affected by this terrible disease and anything we can do to fight cancer has been a mission of mine for decades since our family lost my father to cancer in 1981. We also lost my brother to leukemia when he was 22.[…]My sister Jean, my brother Dan and I are committed to this cause forever.

In addition to Ann’s philanthropic work, the broadcaster hosts a weekly ‘Talking Golf’ show on WFAN-NY, from April to September, on Sunday mornings, from 7 a.m. to 8 a.m., where she was the first woman to host an on-call sports program. “Hey Liguori, What’s the Story” has aired weekly on WFAN for 24 years. Ann was also the first woman to host her own primetime show on The Golf Channel. from Anne ‘Sport Innerview’ cable show that aired weekly for 17 years as Ann interviewed the sport’s top legends. And the ‘Sport Innerview’ radio show broadcast on Saturday mornings on WLIW.

Ann recently received the “Winnie Palmer Award” at the MET Golf Writers National Award Dinner, previously awarded to Barbara Nicklaus, Nancy Lopez, Tom Watson, Ernie Els and Gary Player, to name a few.
