NEAR Foundation Sets Up Hub In Vietnam To Develop Blockchain Technology

NEAR Foundationthe Swiss non-profit organization that oversees the governance and development of the tier-1 blockchain with proof-of-stake, has opened a Web3 regional hub in Vietnam.

He partnered with the first venture capital fund GFS Companies to launch the regional hub in Vietnam dedicated to continuous blockchain innovation, education and talent development across the region.

Vietnam actively promotes digital transformation and development and also ranks fifth out of 154 countries in the Global Cryptocurrency Acceptance Index. It also tops the global rankings for percentage of crypto ownership, with one in five owning crypto.

GFS Ventures, a venture capital focused on blockchain, decentralized finance, open web and NFTs, will lead the creation of the hub with VBI, a research institute specializing in the training, research and development of blockchain technology.

Riley Tran, who will lead the NEAR hub in Vietnam, said, “We believe that in the 4.0 industrial revolution, Vietnam is an exciting emerging market and has the best growth potential in Southeast Asia. The NEAR protocol can help tomorrow’s society create world-changing blockchain solutions, and this hub is a critical step in making that happen.

NEAR Vietnam is already one of the largest local NEAR communities, with over 14,000 members in the NEAR Vietnam Telegram group. There are more than 18 million active NEAR wallets, Vietnam ranks among the top two, accounting for 20% of the total number of NEAR wallets.

The blockchain development community will be built in major cities in several regions, including Hanoi, Da Nang, and Ho Chi Minh. Every month, 40-60 developers need to be trained through courses. There will also be international blockchain hackathon competitions with investment funds held twice a year to engage and attract developers.
