Neiman Marcus Group CEO Geoffroy van Raemdonck honored with the late Virgil Abloh at the Fashion Scholarship Fund FSF Live Event supporting the next generation of industry leaders

Late designer, fashion industry leader and global pioneer, Virgil Ablohwas honored alongside van Raemdonck for his impact in promoting equity and inclusion in the fashion industry, including through the establishment of his “post-modern” scholarship fund at the benefit of black students. FSF LIVE, the organization’s annual fundraiser, was held at The Glasshouse in New York City on April 11bringing together industry leaders, alumni, educators, mentors and supporters, while celebrating the class of 2022 of 123 scholars, including 23 recipients of the Virgil Abloh™ “Post-Modern” scholarship fund.

As part of the celebrations, NMG and the FSF hosted the FSF Fellows at the Bergdorf Goodman Lighthouse before the FSF LIVE event on April 11. Fellows attended a panel on the topic of careers in fashion featuring Linda FargoSVP Fashion and Store Presentation, Bergdorf Goodman, Bruce Paskdirector of menswear, Neiman Marcus and Bergdorf Goodman, Paolo RivaGM, Brand partnerships & merchandising, Neiman Marcus, Ali MizeDirector, ESG, Membership and Corporate Philanthropy, Neiman Marcus Group, and Mecca Hodge, Assistant Buyer, Neiman Marcus and 2021 Recipient of the Virgil Abloh™ “Post-Modern” Fellowship, followed by an exclusive guided tour of the iconic New York-based luxury boutique. The panel was moderated by Lana TodorovitchPresident and Chief Marketing Officer, Neiman Marcusand Board Member, Fashion Scholarship Fund, and Peter ArnoldExecutive Director, Fashion Scholarship Fund.

Since 2019, the Heart of Neiman Marcus Foundation has been a proud partner of the Fashion Scholarship Fund, helping fund scholarships, promote diversity in the fashion industry, nurture emerging talent through the Executive Development Program (EDP) of the company and to provide executive leadership to the FSF Board of Directors, including, Lana Todorovitch served on the Board of Directors for four years, fully supporting their mission.

Start February 2022, NMG launched a three-month point-of-sale fundraising campaign at all 37 Neiman Marcus stores, raising proceeds to be donated directly to the Virgil Abloh “Post-Modern” Fellowship, as well as to help establish a new co-brand scholarship between Neiman Marcus Group and the Fashion Scholarship Fund to support diverse young people studying sustainable and ethical fashion. NMG also hosted a panel of industry leaders who celebrated the legacy of Virgil Ablohand the company’s commitment to black talent in the fashion industry, moderated by Nikki Ogunnaikedigital director, Harper’s Bazaar. Van Raemdonck he himself championed NMG’s partnership with the FSF and worked to raise the next generation of fashion industry leaders, encouraging those from all walks of life to pursue their passions and create change in the industry.
