Bhubaneswar, August 18 (KNN) To modernize the science, technology and innovation infrastructure of the state, the government of Odisha has partnered with the Bhubaneswar City Knowledge Innovation Cluster (BCKIC) Foundation.

The main objective of this partnership is to develop a knowledge sharing network to create an impact of science and technology, mainly in education, health, hygiene and sanitation.

The MoU was signed on Wednesday in the presence of Science and Technology Minister Ashok Chandra Panda.

Speaking about the collaboration, Panda said the initiative will help accomplish the department’s “science-to-society vision” by building the state’s science capacity and the department will be encouraged to enrich teaching. science, research, innovation and communication in the state. .

Under this agreement, BCKIC will be an implementing partner in carrying out some of the department’s initiatives, such as formulating state science, technology and innovation policy, promoting innovation and culture of intellectual property and technology transfer activities in the state.

Under this initiative, the two parties will focus on training and capacity building, industry-academia collaboration activities, while setting up innovation hubs and experiential learning labs at school level. to strengthen the scientific temperament will be given priority.

Suresh Kumar Vashishth, Principal Secretary of the Department of Science and Technology, said “there is a need to strengthen the science and technology ecosystem by increasing the interaction of state academic and research institutions with each other as well as with external stakeholders, such as industry, philanthropic organizations and entrepreneurs.
