PeopleForBikes Coalition Board Meets to Discuss 2022 Goals, Data Investment and Foundation Growth

BOULDER, COLO (May 11, 2022) – The PeopleForBikes Coalition Board of Directors, comprised of 20 of the bike industry’s top leaders, met virtually for its biannual gathering on May 10.

The main topic of discussion for the board was reviewing progress against the goals of the organization’s 2022 work plan, centered around the new PeopleForBikes vision. Framed within the three strategies of infrastructure, policy, and engagement, President and CEO Jenn Dice and the PeopleForBikes leadership team briefed the Board on the organization’s work to date. present in 2022, as well as their plans for the rest of the year and beyond.

“In order to be the best cycling nation in the world, we must accelerate the construction of safe, fun and connected places to ride; advancing pro-cycling and pro-cycling-business policy and reducing barriers to access and welcoming more people to the joys of cycling across the United States,” said An Le, Vice Chairman of the Board of administration and Global Marketing Director of Giant Group. “We have a lot of work to do and the PeopleForBikes team is well on their 2022 goals. We see continued momentum and opportunities for cycling in the future.

Gloria Hwang, Founder and CEO of Thousand, has been approved by the Board of Directors to join the Executive Committee. Hwang’s leadership in assisting PeopleForBikes over the past several years includes his role on the trade association committee of the Bicycle Product Suppliers Association, as a driving force in promoting Ride Spot Challenges, and taking the speaking at many PeopleForBikes events. Hwang also received the 2022 Rising Star Award at the recent Bicycle Leadership Conference.

“I’m so excited to further deepen my engagement with the work of PeopleForBikes,” Hwang said. “I look forward to working alongside other board members to make PeopleForBikes’ new vision a reality and engage more industry leaders in their work.”

The board took a moment to review the PeopleForBikes Bike Leadership Conference, which took place in Dana Point, Calif., in late March. The conference was PeopleForBikes’ first in-person industry event in nearly three years due to the COVID-19 pandemic and hosted 300 attendees from across the bicycle industry.

“Thanks to the help of our board and committee leaders, we have been able to bring the cycling industry together face-to-face to learn, network and solve some of the most important issues facing cycling and cycling. bike industry,” Dice said. “We look forward to more opportunities to come together at the rest of our Bicycle Leadership Series events throughout 2022.”

Patrick Hogan, head of bicycle industry research at PeopleForBikes, reviewed the progress of PeopleForBikes’ three-year data investment plan, aimed at providing the bicycle industry with enhanced offerings on trends in participation and market data, as well as innovative reports to link the information.

Finally, PeopleForBikes Vice President of Philanthropy Nancy Hershfield discussed leading the PeopleForBikes Foundation, the organization’s 501(c)3 branch, including building an outside influencer network. from the bike industry to better support our bike more and better as well as expanding the board of directors of the Foundation.
