Southern Foundation launches annual 90-Day Million Dollar Walk to raise money for campuses

BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) – The Southern University System Foundation will kick off its annual Million Dollar Walk on Wednesday, June 1 from 4-5:30 p.m. on the Southern University and A&M College-Baton Rouge The Facebook page. The 90 Day Campaign continues to be a constant boost to Foundation funds that help Southern University System campus— Southern University and A&M College, University of the South in New Orleans, University of Southern Shreveport, Southern University Law Centerand Southern University Agricultural Research and Extension Center. In 2021, private philanthropic giving to the Foundation provided more than $14.5 million in scholarships, faculty research and program grants, campus operational support, and campus capital improvements.

The alumni challenge speaker is Claire Babineaux Fontenot, alumnus of the Southern University Law Center and CEO of Feeding America. Joining her in the conversation will be WAFB reporter and presenter Scottie Hunter. Southern system administrators and other stakeholders should also participate.
