The Appeal of Conscience Foundation honors Italian Prime Minister Mario Draghi with the 2022 World Statesman Award and Robert Kraft, Founder, Chairman and CEO of the Kraft Group, and Jean-Paul Agon, Chairman of the L’Oréal Group with the Appeal of Conscience Awards during of the 57th Annual Gala

World Statesman Award:

Call of Conscience Award:

Mr. Draghi has been Prime Minister since February 2021 was in New York address the United Nations General Assembly. In July 2022, Mr Draghi announced that he would step down as Prime Minister.

Mario Draghi provided Italy with stability, he increased the international influence of the country and constituted a quasi- $190 billion plan for using the EU’s post-pandemic recovery fund. He has been an influential and highly respected voice in the EU, pushing for ambitious common European solutions to the energy crisis.

Draghi’s impact on the economy of Europe:
Prior to serving as Prime Minister, Mr. Draghi served as President of the European Central Bank from 2011 to 2019. He was also Chairman of the Financial Stability Board from 2009 to 2011 and Governor of the Bank of Italy from 2006 to 2011.

After a long career as an academic economist at ItalyPrime Minister Draghi worked for the World Bank in washington d.c.throughout the 1980s, and in 1991 returned to Rome become Director General of the Italian Treasury. He left that post after a decade to join Goldman Sachs, where he remained until his appointment as Governor of the Bank of Italy in 2006. His tenure as governor coincided with the Great Recession of 2008, and in the midst of that, he was chosen to become the first chair of the Financial Stability Board.

Robert Kraft:
Robert Kraft, founder, chairman and CEO of the Kraft Group, is an American entrepreneur, investor and philanthropist whose portfolio of companies and brands spans many verticals, including paper and packaging, sports and entertainment, real estate and risky investing. The portfolio consists of more than 100 direct venture capital and private equity investments, including the New England Patriots.

In 2019, Kraft became a founding partner in the creation of the REFORM Alliance, a foundation focused on reforming American criminal justice by changing laws, policies, hearts and minds to reduce the number of incarcerations of long term resulting from minor violations of probation and parole. Kraft was also awarded the 2019 Genesis Prize, dubbed the “Jewish Nobel” by Time magazine. As the winner of the Genesis Prize, Kraft announced a $20 million commitment to establish the Foundation to Combat Anti-Semitism in response to the growing rise of anti-Semitism in America and abroad. Jean Paul Agon:
