STAMFORD, Conn., March 10, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — The Deloitte Foundation awarded $25,000 grants to top 10 PhDs in accounting. applicants across the United States through the annual Deloitte Foundation Doctoral Fellowship program. Awarded to students who plan to pursue an academic career after graduation, the award is intended to support the 2022 winners’ final year of classes and the following year to complete their doctoral dissertation.

“These scholarships are awarded at a critical time in a future teacher’s academic journey,” said Erin Scanlon, Chairman of the Deloitte Foundation. “This financial support encourages selected doctoral candidates to devote themselves full-time to the final stage of researching and writing their thesis and is a way for the Foundation to help strengthen the quantity and quality of professors accounting courses that will teach thousands of students overtime.”
Each year, PhD students in accounting from more than 100 universities are invited to apply for the scholarship. A selection committee of four distinguished accounting educators chose this year’s recipients from 50 nominees nominated by their school’s accounting faculty. More than 1,100 future educators have received this scholarship since the program’s inception in 1956.
