WESTFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – A Walk to Cure Arthritis a nationwide flagship event will take place to unite communities to help end arthritis.
As part of the Arthritis Foundation’s efforts to cure arthritis and facilitate daily victories for those living with the disease, the Arthritis Walk to Cure Arthritis 2022 will take place on Sunday, May 22 at 10:00 a.m. at Stanley Park in Westfield.
According to a press release from Senior Executive Director Erica D’Agostino, approximately 60 million adults and 300,000 children in the United States live with arthritis; it is one of the main causes of incapacity for work with an annual cost of 303.5 billion dollars in medical care and loss of income; one in four Americans suffers from arthritis and it is a leading cause of activity limitation compared to heart disease, cancer or diabetes.
By supporting programs, research and advocacy initiatives, the Western MA Walk to Cure Arthritis will help people with arthritis and fund research aimed at curing the disease. A young Arthritis Foundation honoree, Robinson Agresto will share the story of his life with childhood arthritis during the opening ceremony.

The event will consist of live music, entertainment, games and activities for children, Best Fitness in Springfield donated a free membership, but must be 18 or older, present and registered for the walk to participate in the drawing. After the walk, the winner will be announced.
