Former New York Giants linebacker Brandon Short has established a scholarship fund in honor of his late daughter, Karli, who was murdered in a Pittsburgh suburb last September.
The Karli Short Better Tomorrow Scholarship “will support students at Penn State Greater Allegheny, located in McKeesport, Pennsylvania, and the endowment will help students with financial needs who have been impacted by gun violence.”

Among those scheduled to attend the July 15 “Better Tomorrow Gala” is former Giants linebacker Lavar Arrington.
Karli Short, 26, was five months pregnant when she was found shot dead in a McKeesport street on September 13. Authorities have charged the unborn child’s father, Isaac Smith, with the murder.
