Nick Cannon launches the Pediatric Cancer Foundation on his late son’s 1st birthday

Nick Cannon and Alyssa Scott honored their late son’s first birthday by creating a childhood cancer foundation.

Cannon took to Instagram on Thursday to announce the launch of ‘Zen’s Light’, a foundation named after his and Scott’s baby boy, who died last December at just five months old following a battle with cancer. of the brain.

“June 23 will forever be a day of celebration,” Cannon captioned a photo of him and Scott at a lighting ceremony honoring their son. “A beautiful enlightenment ceremony to honor the life of an angel. Zen’s birth has now transformed into “Zen’s Light”. We are proud to announce his new foundation which will help so many others in this world.

Cannon continued, “The mission of ‘Zen’s Light’ is to foster global excellence in hope, bereavement care, and pediatric health care for families and children in need. Thank you to everyone who joined us at this inaugural event… Can’t wait for next year when our lighting gala will continue to grow to help find a cure for childhood cancer, continue research and help comfort more families during difficult times.

Scott also hopped to Instagram to share a tribute to Zen, admitting she tries her best “to stay upbeat” but “can’t help but scream.”

“Happy Zen celestial birthday,” she captioned a photo of the couple together shortly after they were born. “Underlying all the emotions I have today is an insurmountable love. I always do my best to stay positive, but right now I can’t help but scream ‘this n isn’t supposed to be like that”.

She continued, “In my mind, I can see him breaking his cake and crawling, pulling on my legs. But the reality is that I will be the one to blow out his first candle. I wish he was still here with us.
