New Delhi [India] May 1 (ANI): Union Minister for Social Justice and Empowerment, Virendra Kumar, will virtually lay the foundation stone for the new building of the Composite Regional Center (CRC) for Skills Development, Rehabilitation and empowerment of persons with disabilities in Rajnandgaon, Chhattisgarh on Monday, the ministry informed on Sunday.
Aids and devices, educational learning material kits will also be distributed to 500 eligible beneficiaries at a total cost of Rs 33,28,681 during the ceremony, the ministry clarified.
According to the ministry, the Rajnandgaon Composite Regional Center for Skills Development, Rehabilitation and Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities was established by the Disability Empowerment Department of the Ministry of Social Justice and Human Empowerment. Since then, the CRC has been operating in temporary premises with 15 rooms allocated by the district administration to provide clinical services, administration and store.

The Institute has been allocated 5 acres of land by the Chhattisgarh government for the construction of a permanent building in Thakurtolla, Rajnandgaon, the ministry said.
According to the ministry, with an estimated cost of Rs 24.28 crore, the proposed new building will have a plinth area of ​​4,105.22 square meters for various services including assessment, therapeutic services, psychology, education Special, Early Intervention Center for Disabled People, Skills Trainings, Long and Short Training Programs, Administration, Conference Hall, Respite, Bed and Breakfast, etc.
The building will also have the substation, fire fighting system, fire alarm system, elevators, street lighting, DG sets, CCTV system, UPS, EPABX system, LAN network accessories and STP.
The services provided by the Center are early identification and intervention, occupational therapy, physiotherapy, physical medicine and rehabilitation, psychological intervention, prosthetics and orthotics, speech therapy and hearing, special education, vocational training, vocational training, distribution of assistive devices, teaching, learning and communication materials, social work, placement, outreach services, human resources development, research and development, Kiran Mental Health Helpline (MHRH) run by CRC, Rajnandgaon for Chhattisgarh State, regular distribution of assistive devices for people with physical disabilities including artificial limbs, Teaching and Learning Materials Kits (TLM) for people with intellectual disabilities and BTE hearing aids for people with hearing disabilities under the ADIP program.
